For the November meeting, Danny McOwan, Director, Hamilton Art Gallery, will speak to the Circle on the Japanese Ceramics in the Collection of the Hamilton Art Gallery.

Amanda Dunsmore, Curator of Decorative Arts and Head of the Department of Decorative Arts, National Gallery of Victoria has generously agreed to speak to the October meeting.  The title of her talk will be "Percier and Fontaine and the Malmaison Commission".  The talk will be about the great architectural interiors of the Napolean period, guiding us through the importance of decorative arts in these schemes.

In April 1799, Josephine Bonaparte signed the deeds to acquire Malmaison, her famous ch√Ęteau and estate outside Paris.  Two of the most fashionable young architects were engaged to remodel the ground floor interiors, creating some of the most sumptuous decorative shcemes of the early Empire Period.

For the September meeting, there will be another of the popular Show and Tell evening, this time with the theme of "Animal or Vegetable".  Members are invited to bring along items of ceramic or glass that fit this category to share and discuss with fellow members.
